We are excited to announce that our new V2 of the Ocean Eye platform is now available online for anyone to sign up and use.
The updated product now includes the following upgrades.
Full financial transfer capacity
We integrated Stripe technology with Ocean Eye so all ecosystem service payments made through Ocean Eye are collected on our Stripe account and payments can be made to communities /recipients bank accounts when the donations hit a suitable amount to make transfers economical.
Our MVP was cash based so we are very excited to now have the full financial transfer capacity.
We will continue to monitor the situation for the use of nationally based digital payment systems as well as the use of blockchain technology and will continue to develop the fintech aspect of our services so that we a) provide maximum transparency and b) minimize costs so that we can provide maximum benefits to the target communities.
Tourist admin option
A tourist dashboard was added to Ocean Eye. This now allows the tourism operators to choose if they want to administrate the tourists and their trips on their operator accounts, or if they simply instruct the tourists to administrate Ocean Eye directly.
In order for the tourist to contribute to the right local projects, they can create an account and then add the tours and projects by the operator they are doing their marine activities with. That way we can ensure the contributions still go to the relevant local projects.
This new feature also allows independent tourists to create a tour and select species and payments in any location. This way the payments can be targeted to a select global projects.
