Ocean Eye NFT collection was launched as a series of 10 NFT photographs in a collection called ‘Ocean Eye – Chasing the Beauty’ – taken by the Award Winning photojournalist and Ocean Eye associate Paul Hilton.
The NFTs were minted on the Ethereum blockchain and are being sold from ETH 0.1.
They are available here.
This is a unique series of images from the decades long mission of Paul to document the destruction and beauty of our Ocean. In his own words
‘Ocean Eye is one of the most promising innovations in a long-time that can help bring solutions to critical issues of marine wildlife capture and trade from shark finning to unsustainable hunting of all marine species’.
At the time of multiple environmental crises Ocean Eye provides a solution to the number one marine conservation success factor; stakeholder buy-in. Too often coastal communities lack incentives to support conservation initiatives and continue to unsustainably exploit vulnerable marine life such as sharks, turtles, cetaceans and others. In addition, effective marine conservation offers both adaptation and mitigation solutions to the climate crisis.
Through this NFT drop we seek funds and support to scale our new fully validated product and lead the new regenerative post Covid-19 integrated travel and conservation movement.
To honour Ethereum’s move to go 99.95% more green with the Merge, OceanEye decided to mint this collection on the Ethereum blockchain.
