Bali environmental restoration and clean-up projects
The Island of the Gods and Goddesses, Bali in Indonesia, is known for its beautiful beaches and cultural tourist attractions. It also has diverse marine life and is surrounded by the Indian Ocean to the South and the Pacific Ocean to the North, giving it a unique characteristic of permanent and seasonally visiting marine life.
Bali is also a mass tourism destination, and it has large and widely distributed coastal communities. To have an impact on protecting marine life and critical habitats around Bali, Ocean Eye has teamed up with forward-thinking dive operators that already run environmental programs that address the key threats to the marine environment in this area.
Donations made through Ocean Eye with Sanctum Diving in Nusa Penida, Blue Corner Diving in Lembongan and Abyss Ocean World in Permuteran contribute to their projects that address plastic waste, coral restoration and megafauna monitoring studies in the area.
Through Ocean Eye, anyone diving or snorkelling in Bali can donate to these projects through their tourist accounts, leaving a positive legacy for the environment and contributing to critical data collection of the biodiversity trends in the area.
